Harvard Summer School: Secondary School Program
Harvard Summer School: Secondary School Program
One of our great Camp Mixxers expressed a desire to attend Harvard or Princeton in order to study Marine Biology, to which I urged that she focus on Harvard, since I know something about that. Actually MIT probably has a better program in Marine Biology, up at their Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute on Cape Cod, but that's another story.
Whether or not she goes to one or the other, I'd like to introduce her, and the other kids (and parents) to a way to test drive Harvard before graduating from High School. It is cheaper, easier, and geared for High School aged kids.
And most people don't even know about it!
FROM THE WEBSITE:
"Each summer, Harvard Summer School offers high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors an extraordinary chance to sample college. You can take college classes taught by fine instructors, meet students from around the world, and take part in social, recreational, and college preparatory activities: a college fair, trips to other colleges, intramural athletics, dances, a trivia bowl, music groups, and a talent show. You'll choose your courses and plan your own time."
Hope to see some of our Camp Mixxers try it on for size. A good grade in the summer would help get into their University.
